beautifully appointed Lodge offers guests unsurpassed Bushveld
vistas, sensational Lapa, outdoor Boma, swimming pool with pool
house and luxury chalets designed and situated to offer our
guests seclusion and comfort. The Mafigeni Safari Lodge is
situated in Limpopo Province, the heart of the Bushveld and only
40 minutes drive from the renowned Kruger National Park.
Mafigeni offers a variety of safari services and our luxury
chalets each feature en-suite bathrooms and private veranda’s
overlooking the Bushveld. On the Mafigeni premises, our guests
can take advantage of dawn and dusk game
drives, horse rides or arrange for guided tours to places of
interest in the area.

by Claude & Jill Kleynhans and the knowledge,
skill and many years of experience of the
Mafigeni staff, will offer you one of the
richest and most varied safari stays in South
Africa - at some of the most reasonable prices

On the Mafigeni property, we offer guests
a variety of services, activities and amenities, some of
which are:
Nature walks - Trail distances are tailored to
suit individual guests. Game may be stalked and viewed
at close range and an abundance of bird varieties all
adds to the experience of being at one with nature.
Guests are guided by knowledgeable staff who will open
up a new world to you.
Game drives in open safari vehicles – Guests may
enjoy day and/or night drives. The best time for game
viewing is early morning and late afternoon, as wild
animals usually bed down during the heat of the day.
Night drives give guests the opportunity of sighting
nocturnal animals such as Serval, Aardvark, Bushbaby,
Genet, Porcupine and various nocturnal birds.
Game viewing on horseback - Early morning, late
afternoon and moonlight rides (during full moon only)
are tailored to suit guests horsemanship. Experienced
staff accompany all rides and first time riders welcome.
Enjoy an hour or more (depending on your riding skills)
in the Bushveld on well-schooled horses, suitable for
all levels of horsemanship. Riders can encounter over 15
plains game species.
Stargazing – Discover the Southern Hemisphere
with its clear skies and good “seeing”. In the Southern
Hemisphere night sky, there are remarkable celestial
objects that can be seen with the naked eye, which are
below the horizon on the Northern part of the Globe and
therefore unseen or poorly seen in the North. Look
carefully for the Milky Way, the well-known
constellations of the Crux, Southern Cross, Clouds of
Magellan, Orion’s Belt, Venus and complex satellite
galaxies of the Milky Way. A sky map for the current
month is available upon request to assist you in
identifying the many celestial objects of our night sky.
Guided tours – Enjoy a visit to one of the many
places of interest in the vicinity with our experienced
and knowledgeable guides. Visit the Blyde River Canyon,
Kruger National Park or one of the many wildlife centres
in the area.
Clay pigeon shooting - If you would like to
experience the thrill of firing a rifle, without harming
an animal, then clay pigeon shooting is for you! Test
your accuracy with a 12-gauge shotgun or a more accurate
rifle and try hit the clay disc as it is shot into the
air. Suitable for young and old and no previous
experience is required. Have fun trying your hand at
shooting clays under the guidance of an experienced
Professional Hunter.
Hunting – Let our resident Professional hunter
guide you for trophy or on a biltong hunt. We offer on
site slaughter facilities, cool room and butchery for
you to work your meat. Trophy caping and skinning will
be done by our experienced staff.
Bird hunting – We offer bird hunting on
neighbouring agricultural properties during the bird
hunting season (May to August). You are required to
purchase Bird hunting licences prior to your hunt.
