Cheerio Trout Fishing and holiday
Resort is situated in the mountains, forests and
streams of Magoebaskloof in the Cheerio Valley,
home of the annual Spring Azalea and Cherry
Blossom Fare. It is a comfortable three and a
half hours drive from Johannesburg on the N1
National highway and 45 minutes from Polokwane
on the R71 highway. Cheerio is an ideal stop
over to the Kruger and other private game parks
and is a comfortable hour and a half drive from
the Phalaborwa gate and two hours from the Orpen
gate.
Fully equipped self-catering
chalets, accommodating from 2 to 8 persons, and
B&B rondavels are set in beautiful gardens.
Satellite TV is available in all chalets. There
are three trout dams on the property and river
fishing can be arranged with the local angling
association. Other facilities/activities include
a swimming pool, tennis court, put-put, birding,
biking, hiking or just relaxing under a tree on
a garden bench. Other places of interest, which
are easily accessible, are the Ebenezer,
Magoebaskloof, Tzaneen and Dap Naude dams, the
Debengeni falls and the Woodbush and Agatha
National forests. A visit to the Modjadjikloof
area, to the home of the Rain Queen, the cycad
and tree fern forests and the Giant Baobab must
not be missed. For golf enthusiasts, the Tzaneen
and Polokwane Country Clubs are within an hour’s
drive.

For the adventurous there are the Wolkberg Mountains and
national hiking trails and adventure activities such as
the Canopy tour over the magnificent Letaba River water
falls and George, quad biking, kloofing, tubing,
abseiling and paintball are available at our associate
in the mountains close by. |
