HELICOPTER FLIPS ADVENTURES IN SOUTH AFRICA

South Africa is a beautiful country, offering some of the most beautiful scenery, landscapes and sights in the world. Undoubtedly there could be few better ways to observe these marvels, than from high up in the sky. Helicopter flights and flips in South Africa allow you the joys of a bird’s eye-view of the beauty that South Africa has to offer. A scenic flight offers the opportunity to view a vast area in a relatively short space of time. South Africa is home to a number of locations from which helicopter flips are arranged.

Companies like Beach and Bush, provide tailored packages that organize breathtaking South African helicopter rides in any of a huge list of South African locations. From the majestic Drakensberg, Zululand and the Valley of a Thousand Hills, to the exciting Wild Coast and Garden Route on the east coast of South Africa. Usually combined with a delightful picnic, a South African helicopter flip is a wonderful experience not to be missed.

Many of the national parks and game reserves in South Africa, have recently included helicopter flips and rides around the reserve. Numerous parks in Limpopo will allow you the once in a life time opportunity of taking a marvellous helicopter ride - giving you a birds eye view of the gorgeous landscapes and diverse South African wildlife.

Taking a helicopter flip in Cape Town will give you a close-up view of Table Mountain, the Twelve Apostles Mountain range, the gorgeous beaches, blue seas and the many beautiful wine farms. They allow for aerial inspection of the indigenous flora and fauna and even the shipwrecks near Llandudno. In season, why not plan to take an exciting helicopter ride around known whale watching (e.g. Hermanus) locations and view these graceful creatures from the sky.

The Nelson Mandela Bay Metro (Port Elizabeth) provides scenic helicopter flips for tourists who wish to obtain a bird's eye view of the metro, the coastline and surrounding areas. There are affordable five minute flips, a half an hour scenic view of the city or a one and a half hour trip of Addo Elephant Park.

If you prefer something a little more exciting than a relaxed aerial tour, then why not try a 30 minute, adrenaline packed helicopter ride in a Huey Helicopter? This World War chopper has been wonderfully restored and now offers helicopter trips that will leave your heart racing and a grin on your face for at least a few days. After gingerly taking off from the V&A Waterfront, the impressive Huey makes its way long the west coast of Cape Town in the direction of Melkbosstrand Beach, and then the fun begins. Feel the ‘G-Forces’ as the Huey builds up speed and pulls up vertical, before turning dropping back down towards the sea. At the last minute, the experienced pilot straightens out the chopper and flies at high speed, just a few metres off the water below. After you’re taken through a few other military training manoeuvres, the Huey makes its way back to ‘base’, where you’re given a certificate to certify your Huey adventure. Definitely a South African helicopter trip that is not to be missed!
